Photograph caption dated December 13, 1962 reads "Was anyone watching the basketball game between Canoga Park and Taft High Schools Wednesday with this pretty 16-year-old coed leading cheers in the Canoga gym? It seems the camera of Valley Times TODAY photographer George Brich found Christie Carnahan, a Taft student from Hidden Hills, a more interesting subject than the players. The camera catches Christie as she claps her hands, twirls about, then touches her extended glove-covered hand with the point of her tennis shoe and finally breaks into a hearty cheer for her team which, by the way, won the game, 66-43. Taft also leads the West Valley League in basketball and is undefeated in league play." See images 00157597 through 00157599 for all photos in this series.
