Jesse Jackson speaks informally with students involved in his EXCEL program prior to a convocation at USC's Dedeaux Field where Jackson spoke to high school seniors urging those eligible to register to vote. Rev. Jackson has been teaching part-time at USC's School of Education. EXCEL (Excellence in Education) aims to point out to inner-city students that they can excel if they work at it, and urges parents and teachers to push for excellence. JM/NCR. USC. May 5, 1978.
