Mary Pickford was a Canadian-born silent film actress, famously known as "America's sweetheart," co-founder of American Artists film studio, and one of the original founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Buddy Rogers was an actor and a jazz musician. Photograph caption reads "A bronze bust of Mary Pickford, founder and president emeritus of the Motion Picture and Television Fund, was presented to George L. Bagnall, center, during ceremonies at the Motion Picture and Television Country House and Hospital. It was commissioned by Miss Pickford's husband, Buddy Rogers, left, from sculptress Lucile Fairbanks-Crump, right, a niece of the late Douglas Fairbanks Sr. and wife of prominent producer-writer Owen Crump. Fund executive director Jack Staggs (not pictured) also accepted a check for $40,000 from the operation of the Cinema Glamour Shop, originally founded in 1930 by Mary Pickford. Total contribution of the shop during the past two years has been $92,000. The bust of Miss Pickford will be permanently displayed at the Woodland Hills facility."
