Photograph of the painting "Head of Christ" by Zimmerman, [s.d.]. The head of Christ is portrayed in profile, and in dark hues, making his hair, shoulders and beard merge with the surrounding shadows. As a result, only a small portion of his face is actually visible in detail. A similarly lit background acts to frame the shape of his head.
