Photograph caption dated October, 22, 1935 reads, "General Evangeline Booth, international commander of the Salvation Army, is shown when she was welcomed to Los Angeles today where she will lead a western conference of the Army being attended by representatives of 11 states and Hawaii. SHe is shown on the running board of a car. Standing in front of her is Governor Frank F. Merrian, who welcomed her."
