Description
This view shows girls sitting around, walking with school books and gives the impression of any college campus anywhere. The grounds consist of beautiful lawns, colorful flowers and good landscaping to take away the depressing look penal institutions could have if there were drab gray cement walls surrounding the place. There are 119 acres, 60 of which are enclosed with barbed wire. These girls either are going to another building where they have business of one kind or another, or relaxing on their day off, or just taking advantage of a class room recess. Photo dated: July 14, 1954.
