Description
This photograph documents early reference images for the "Panorama of the Valley of the Smokes" at the original Hollywood location of the Velaslavasay Panorama at 5553 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, 90028. The "Panorama of the Valley of the Smokes" depicts an impression of what the Los Angeles Basin might have looked like in the early 19th Century. Reference material included contemporary photographs of the LA area, postcards from the early 20th Century, archival historical images and newspaper woodcuts. Other images include an archival photograph of a panorama rotunda which was once located in the Downtown Los Angeles area on Main Street in the late 19th century and a printout of Robert Barker's panorama of Edinburg.
