Description
Photograph of a view of the railroad in Santa Monica, looking north from Palisades Park, 1890-1900. The railroad is at the bottom of the cliffs at right and consists of two sets of tracks. A narrow dirt road runs parallel to the rails, and the beach is visible next to the road. Palisades Park is visible at left and center. A wooden fence runs along the top of the cliffs, and several palm trees can be seen on the opposite side of the fence. Two ramps lead down the cliffs at center. Tall mountains are visible in the distance.
