Description
Image of an advertisement for the Chap-book semimonthly periodical; a driver with large whip and top hat rides atop a carriage with a female passenger reading visible through the carriage window; bearded man in a bowler hat holding a sign in foreground at center.
Date supplied by cataloger based on copy held by the New York Public Library. Item originally owned by illustrator Curtis Wager-Smith (1870-1950). "CB"--text, artist's initials, center right of image. "The Chap-book Semi Monthly"--text, center of image. "Being a Miscellany of Curious and Interesting Songs, Ballads, Tales, Histories & c.; adorned with a variety of pictures and very delightful to read; newly composed by Many Celebrated Writers; To which are annex'd a Large Collection of Notices of Books."--text, bottom center of image.
