Views of 5 buildings on Mare Island.
View 1 (1999-0422) shows one-story wooden coal shed from the southwest; view 2 (1999-0423) shows the residence of the naval constructor, W. J. Baxter, U.S.N., a three-story, brick building; view 3 (1999-0424) shows the general storehouse from the northwest, a two-story, brick building with open gable end at the roof and the number "69" above the door.
View 4 (1999-0425) shows the S. E. Boiler Shop from the southeast, a multi-story brick building with large windows on the side,windows along a second roof at the peak of the main rookf, and a small wooden, flat-roofed addition on the side; view 5 (1999-0426) shows the roof of a building with a bell tower at the gable end on the left.
