Photograph of a view of the Umatilla Indian camp, July 1900. Dozens of light-colored teepees can be seen on a wide flat plain at center. In the foreground several horses can be seen grazing. The plain is bordered in the background by a dense forest. An American flag can be seen over a teepee in the distance at right. In the sky, there are large clouds visible. "The camping ground of the Umatilla, to which they congregate with invited guests from other reservations for one or two weeks each year, just before going into the mountains for the summer outing".
