Description
California artist, Orpha Klinker, delivers a lecture in the shade of a walnut tree. Photo caption reads: "Pilgrimage recalls early days of California. Members of the Historical Society of Southern California gather in the shade of a huge, gnarled walnut tree at Camulos Rancho in Piru to hear Orpha Klinker, left, speak of early California days, during a weekend pilgrimage made by the society to the ancient San Fernando mission. The pilgrimage to review the landmarks of early California marked the resumption of an annual custom which was discontinued during the war". Photo dated: June 17, 1946.
