"Unloading Sand at Peking University, China." A shirtless worker wearing a turban unloads sand from a donkey cart onto a pile at left. Behind him, a retaining wall holds up a small hill, on which is a tentlike structure and also a tree, by which stands another man. A few other shrubs or trees are visible. Peking University changed its name to Yenching University after 1912 when the Chinese government university was named Peking University. It was later known as Yanjing da xue.
