Description
Photograph caption dated May 23, 1956 reads, "Trainer Mish Tenney ponies Rex Ellsworth's Swaps, with Chester White up, around the Hollywood Park oval following a morning gallop. Swaps was supposed to make his return to action in the Southland Saturday in defense of his championship in the $100,000 added California, but now there's doubt he'll start against such outstanding rivals as Bobby Brocato and Poona II."
