Description
"More than 2000 irate San Fernando Valley property owners jammed the North Hollywood High School auditorium to protest against a sharp rise in tax assessments. Huge throng (above) booed County Assessor John R. Quinn time and again as he tried to explain cause of increase. Councilman Everett Butrkhalter requested Quinn's attendance at mass meeting. Police squad cars were called and officers stood guard near the city officials as the gathering finally broke up" -- Examiner clipping attached to verso, dated, "December 19, 1954".
