This is a close-up photo of the large multi-tiered steeple of the North Long Beach Christian Church, which is located at 1115 E. Market St. in the city of Long Beach. The lower portion of the steeple is made out of red brick, and the two upper tiers are painted white with dark brown trim; a thin, verdigris conical form tops it off. Founded in 1929, North Long Beach Christian Church is a mainline Protestant church affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and has been a presence in the community for almost eight decades.; Churches of Christ/Disciples of Christ, a restoration movement with no governing body, was solidified as a historical phenomenon in 1832 when restorationists from two major movements merged; this was referred to as the "Stone-Campbell Movement". The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a Mainline Protestant denomination in North America, which as of the end of 2005 had approximately 722,823 members in 3,777 congregations.
