The Loved One' was a 1965 black and white satire comedy about the funeral business in which a young British poet (played by Robert Morse) visiting an uncle in Los Angeles (played by Sir John Gielgud), goes to work at a Hollywood cemetery after his uncle dies. The film starred Robert Morse, Jonathan Winters, Anjanette Comer and Rod Steiger, with appearances by Sir John Gielgud, Robert Morley, Roddy McDowall, James Coburn, Milton Berle, Dana Andrews and Liberace. Produced by Filmways and distributed by Metro Goldwyn Meyer, the film was released on October 11, 1965.
