SERIES. ". . .the most famous of California mining pictures. Painted by Charles Christian Nahl about 1870 from sketches and notes made when he mined during the Gold Rush days of 1849. The picture is on display at the E.B. Crocker Gallery, 216 O St., Sacramento."
