Photograph was edited for publication purposes Newhall, named after businessman Henry Newhall, is the southernmost and oldest district of Santa Clarita. Prior to the 1987 consolidation into the city of Santa Clarita, it was an unincorporated town. Photograph caption dated December 15, 1954 reads "Administration offices for Superintendent Irvin A. Shimmin and his staff will be relocated in new unit pictured above. William S.
