Description
Photograph of an oil rig, ca.1930. The tall, metal derrick of the oil rig stands on the left with a flimsy, wooden structure protruding from the base to center. The paneled roof of the structure is spotted with dust while the lightly-colored walls are stained with oil. Barrels lie in a row to the right of the structure while a pipe on the near wall secretes a stream of thick smoke. Men sit on machinery on the right with a large, lightly-colored structure and four tall, dark pipes standing in the background behind them. A cylinder stands on the left amongst a group of thin trees with a second derrick behind it.
