Photograph of members of W. Herbert Allen's family in a highly decorated Tourist automobile, ca.1910. The dark car is at center and is facing away from the camera to the left. It has two long wicker baskets attached to the sides over the back tires, and a license plate that reads 1261 is hung between the tires. A network of thin poles is attached to the top of the car, and suspended from it are several large paper lanterns and American flags. A girl is looking over the back seat of the car, and another person is hidden by a lantern. A large two-story house is visible in the background on the opposite side of a neatly groomed lawn and a sidewalk.
