Behind him, people, mostly children, are sitting on cots in front of the cabin. To the left of the center, two cots sit right and in front, respectively, to a large tree. The people sitting on the cot in the foreground next to the tree are reading either newspapers or a book. One woman is sitting on the cot to the left of the tree looking towards the people in the background. They are standing next to a donkey in front of a second cabin. Trees and mountains fill in the backdrop. (CHS-42630 is a divergent perspective of the same location of this photograph.)
