Fire officials examine the remains of a gas explosion at the Garment Capitol Building on 8th St. that injured several people and caused $1,000,000 in damage. A portion of a gas pipe had been removed and fire officials were originally inclined to rule out the explosion as accidental. Photo caption reads: "Here is a scene on the fifth foor, with garment machinery blown and burned into a twisted ruin.
