Photographic portrait of Brigadier General Stephen W. Kearney, ca.1840-1860. He can be seen from the waist up looking slightly to the left. He is clean shaven and is wearing a military uniform with epaulettes. His right arm is partially extended. Kearney took possession of New Mexico for the United States in 1846. Image is a half-tone print of a portrait.
