Description
V2p110a In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. II, page 110 top left. This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Text written under photo: "Looking down Commercial Street from Dupont, 1919." View looks east on Commercial Street from what was called Grant Avenue by 1919. The street is still paved with cobblestones. Crates and barrels are stacked on the sidewalk at the left. Several carts and waghons are visible further down the street. The Ferry Building tower can be seen at the end of the street, and the eaves and balconies of Chinatown on the buildings closer in. Negative, no. 26,444 (4 x 5).
