Photograph caption dated April 14, 1958 reads, "When the Los Angeles Dodgers open the 1958 National League baseball campaign tomorrow afternoon in San Francisco against the San Francisco Giants these three great stars will be seen in action. Gil Hodges, left, gets the opening day assignment at first base; Don Drysdale, center, formerly of Van Nuys High will be on the mound and Duke Snider, slugging left fielder, is still a doubtful starter but it appears he'll see duty in the opener. After three games in the Bay Area, the Dodgers come to Los Angeles and resume their series with the Giants Friday afternoon." Pictured is Gil Hodges.
