Description
Shown in circa 1915 is a portion of Capitol Park, on the L Street side, looking easterly from Tenth Street. As of the mid-1990s, the 40 acre site contained no less than a diverse set of 800 trees and shrubs. The lamp standing in the froreground is a legacy of electricity, which was first seen when over 1,000 lights illuminated the park for the 1895 Electric Carnival.
