Description
"Familie Weder. Gnadenthal. Missionskaufmann." ("Family Weder. Genadendal. Missionary merchant."). In the foreground three women and two men, the woman far left appears to be younger than the other two. In the background another young woman and a young man. All are dressed in formal attire, the men wearing suits. The family is standing inside a building. In the background two sets of antlers on the wall, the one on the right is smaller.
Emil Hermann Karl Weder (1881-?) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine and worked as a missionary merchant in South Africa West from 1908-1928. His wife, Agnes Elise Weder, born Wedemann (years of birth and death unknown), married him in Genadendal on August 26th, 1908.
