Photograph caption dated January 11, 1962 reads "Members of the James Monroe High School football team, champions of the East Valley League, were honored last night at the fourth annual award banquet at Bagdad Oasis with presentation of awards highlighting the event. Claude Newman, sports editor of the Valley Times TODAY (fourth from left), presents certificates to players selected on the Valley Times TODAY East Valley all-star teams. Receiving awards are: Bill (Bud) diDonato, Bill Lennox, Paul Colaruso, Steve Dem and Fred Kipp."
