Description
(Left to right): Walther Mayer, Alfred Joy, Albert Einstein, Charles St. John, Walter Adams, Edwin Hubble, and Arthur King on the Monastery porch, Mount Wilson Observatory. The Monastery served as a dormitory for visiting scientists. All of the men are wearing suits. Mayer and Joy are seen standing at the far left, in front of the porch. Arthur King is seen standing at the far right, partially hidden by a porch column. Einstein, St. John, Adams and Hubble are seated. An exterior wall of the Monastery, with windows, is seen behind Mayer and Joy at the far left.
