Photograph of a lithograph by Charles Kuchel and Emil Dresel depicting Los Angeles looking north from Temple Street, ca.1857. The U.S. Hotel is in the foreground at the corner of Main Street and Market Street, which are being traveled by horses and riders. Assorted people and horses are further dispersed throughout the spaces between the primarily single-story buildings of the picture. A mountain range is shown in the extreme background. The caption underneath the illustration reads " Los Angles-1857 / (From the Historical Files of Title Insurance and Trust Co.)" Compares to CHS-5308.
