Description
Image of people standing at the entrance to the Race Thru the Clouds roller coaster with the Venice Lagoon and canal in the background in Venice, California. Signs above the entrance read "the Race Thru the Clouds - exhilarating, exciting," and "the new race is entirely different - all new big sensational dips." The low building at left says "Hughes Ice Cream."
This is a copy negative (a photograph of another photograph). Title devised by cataloger; date devised by cataloger based on history of the ride, which opened in 1911 and closed in 1923. This view appears to be later than related images of the same ride.
