In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. I, page 189 bottom.
This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "Marshall Square. West end continuation of the photograph above it." Only the very tip of Marshall Square can be seen (right). In the center of the photo is the Marye Building, containing the Pacific Coast Rattan Co. (displaying many signs extolling the merits of Falstaff Rockers), and a hardware store. This store has a sign up announcing a "Civic Center Sale", indicating that the streets in the area are about to be realigned and that the Marye Building will soon be shortened. A few horse-drawn carts and the blurred figures of pedestrians can also be seen.
