Description
Photograph of mountain climbers at Palisade Glacier, Inyo County, California, ca.1900. A group of men and women can be seen in the foreground standing on a snow-covered rocky ground. In the left, a large rock is observable resting on what appears to be a bank of snow while three men and a dog are standing on it. The majority of the people seem to be holding a ski pole in one hand. A valley of snow is viewable behind them and snow-capped pointy mountains serve as the backdrop.
