Photograph caption dated May 21, 1962 reads, "Rose Robinson, secretary of the Downtown North Hollywood Retail Merchants Committee, is going to bat for the committee's dollar day celebration slated for Friday. She's getting some good advice from Los Angeles Dodger outfielder Duke Snider, left, during a warm-up session at Dodger Stadium. Assisting are, from left, Merrill Burnside, Dick Heppler and Tom Jackels, all members of the merchants committee. Theme of the forthcoming celebration is 'Shop Early for Hits of the Season.' Stores will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. to accommodate shoppers."
