Photograph article dated December 13, 1960 partially reads, "Carl Ryan, 3 years old, will not be having a very merry Christmas this year. Neither will his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Ryan, 223 W. Verdugo Ave., Burbank. A hit-and-run motorist has made the holiday season seem like a nightmare for all of them. It started at 10:10 a.m. last Friday. Young Carl raced between two parked cars and into the street after his German Shepherd dog, Tiny. He never caught up with Tiny. A moving car knocked Carl down in the middle of the street. The driver stopped, picked up the boy, carried him to the sidewalk, set him down, got back in his car - and drove away." Mrs. Ryan comforts her son, Carl, at Valley Doctors Hospital.
