"Synod group taken Royapettah, probably 1899." Large formal group portrait of missionaries and indigenous mission workers under tree.
The Madras [now Tamil Nadu] District was the first mission to be established in India in 1817. Rev. Harwood Raw served in Madras from 1896 until his premature death in 1905 from cholera.
