Distant view of the Samarkand Hotel, illuminated by the sun, at the foot of the snow-capped Santa Ynez Mountains. Built in 1915 by Dr. Prynce [Pryns] Hopkins as Boyland II School, changed to Samarkand Hotel in 1920.
