Description
Photo identification provided by Chris T. Higgins, California Division of Mines and Geology. Photograph shows view northwest of the furnace-condenser complex at the Wide Awake Mine, Sulphur Creek Mining District, Colusa County. The furnace is interpreted to be in that part of the complex with the cupola. The condensers are interpreted to be in the part of the complex on the right with the slanted set of entryways. That part of the complex in the left foreground may be a storage shed for supplies such as wood to fire the furnace. Below this shed on the left is the entry to the furnace as shown in photograph sc21063.
