Description
A smiling man and infant pose for this circa 1925 photograph, inside the open cab of a period Peerless Ice Cream delivery truck. Advertising covers the truck, one slogan reading “Peerless Ice Cream, Gives Health and Delight.” Peerless was one a bevy of Sacramento ice creameries in Interwar Sacramento, which, when combined, were employing over 100 persons with a total payroll of 130,000 dollars. When Peerless set up its factory at 1115 G Street in 1915, it provided for both a delivery stable and a garage.
