Written in Afrikaans and with capital leters it says: "DEZE STEEN IS GELEGD GEWORDEN DOOR DE EDLE HEER C. J. KRIGE. L. V. VAN CALEDON LERAAR: WELEERW. R. L. MARX. SUPERINTENDENT. ARCHITEKT: E. SEELIGER. BOUWMEESTER P. W. HENDRY. 6-11-1926." ("This stone was set up by the noble Mister C. J. Krige. L. V. of Caledon[,] Minister: Reverend R. J. Marx. Superintendent. Architect: E. Seeliger. Master builder P. W. Hendry. 6.11.1926."). Written on the card board: 12.2.34. P. Theile." Cf. photo no. 9642. -- Photo no. 9642 shows the commemorative plaque from a more distant perspective. -- The inscription on the plaque is written in an older version of the Afrikaans language, not in modern Afrikaans. -- Christman Joel Krige (1868, Stellenbosch -1933, Stellenbosch) was the Speaker of Parliament. Richard Johannes Marx (1866 -1958) was a missionary in South Africa East and West ( Wittewater, Goedverwacht, Moravian Hill, Elim, Mamre and Genadendal) from 1893 to 1934.
