Hooting and booing and cries of No, no! broke out from this crowd at a City Council meeting in Glendale on November 8, 1951, where a decision was to be made on petitions to annex the New York Avenue, Chevy Chase Drive, and Honolulu Avenue districts. One charge was voiced that signatures on original petitions requesting annexation were not obtained in good faith. Cries went up when the council decided to delay action until 11 a.m. Saturday.
