Description
Report on "resettlement" from Granada incarceration camp. Includes: Are you interested in leaving the Center?; Why are you hesitant about resettlement? (including subsections on uncertainty of public sentiment, lack of money, lack of information, lack of confidence in making a reasonably satisfactory living, lack of proper living quarters, family ties and responsibilities, lack of confidence in establishing a secure future, lack of ability to use English well enough, poor health, old age); Occupation; Do you have property of business connections that would help you get started in this line in the future?; On returning to the West Coast; Do the evacuees want to stay in the Centers at government expense for the rest of their lives?; and Conclusions and recommendations.
The Japanese American Archival Collection documents the people, places, and daily life of Japanese Americans, primarily those who lived in the once thriving community of pre-war Florin in the Sacramento region, as well as the conditions in American incarceration camps during World War II. The approximately 7,000 original items include personal and official letters, photographs, diaries, arts and crafts, newsletters, textiles, camps artifacts, yearbooks and other publications.
