Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph article dated November 4, 1961 partially reads, "Like Will Rogers in a group of city slickers, Will Rogers State Park stands out in the rush of the city surrounding it - a peaceful, quiet haven...That's precisely what humorist Will Rogers sought when he bought the ranch in 1922 and installed a polo field, a golf putting range, an 18-room two-story house, a large stable and bridle trails. He died in a plane crash in 1935 and his wife died in 1944, leaving the ranch to the state. It has not been changed since."; See images #00132373 through #00132375 for all photos in this series.
