Description
"BAPTISM SCENE The new church building will have a baptistery visible to the audience in order that they may witness baptism by immersion. None of the present meeting places of the church have a baptistery where the audience can witness immersion. All believers are now baptized in a baptistery located behind the "School of the Bible" where the missionaries have their offices. There have been 283 baptisms in past 3 years in Brazil work." An American missionary from Churches of Christ baptizes a new Brazilian convert to Churches of Christ. The Sao Paulo team began forming in 1958 at Abilene Christian University. In June 1961, when the team left, there were 26 adults and 18 children on the team. By 1962 this number increased to a total of 50 American missionaries from Churches of Christ working as a mission team in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This was the largest team of missionaries ever sent out by Churches of Christ.
