Description
This March 4, 1931, photograph was taken from the west end of the State Capitol grounds, looking toward the east side of the California State Library and Courts Building, located at 914 Capitol Avenue. The building was part of a Capitol extension project predating the First World War. Bonds were approved to acquire and build upon the real estate between Ninth and Tenth Streets and L and N Streets by a vote of the State's citizens in November 1913.
