Description
Workers, in uniforms with "Thunderbird" written on the back, prepare a Lockheed seaplane for Capt. Hubert Wilkins at the Los Angeles Harbor. Earlier in 1928 Hubert Wilkins and his pilot, Carl Ben Eiselson, flew a Lockheed Vega on the first trans-Arctic flight from Point Barrow, Alaska to Spitsbergen. Photo dated: September 7, 1928.
