Photograph included in the exhibit: "From Hula Hoops to Hanoi: L.A. Concerns, 1954-1965."
Photograph caption dated August 21, 1954 reads, "Sunday drag races at Pomona, held for Los Angeles hot rod and motorcycle enthusiasts, are under supervision of community, allow drivers to see how hot cars are under conditions safer than those in effect for majority of drivers on public streets. Safeguards include crash helmets, fire extinguishers, roll bars. Elimination races by twos, as shown here, follows qualification solo runs."
