Text written under photo: "Testing fire apparatus. Bush looking East. 1914." View looks east on Bush Street from about Kearny. Smoke is issuing from somewhere on the left. A shiny new motor-driver hook and ladder truck is proceeding west on Bush accompanied by an automobile full of dignitaries. A streetcar behind the truck waits to proceed. A crowd of onlookers has gathered. Wooden barriers and piled bricks are at the extreme left. The Mills Building is visible in the background.
