Description: This August 1956 photograph shows the Sacramento City Library’s main branch, as seen from the north side of I Street. Notable in the foreground are a fallout shelter sign and several calls moving west. To the far right of the frame is the Capital Realty Company at 814 I Street. The main branch was located at 828 I Street.
